Camp Creek ES Dual Language Immersion (DLI)

 

Join a district level Dual Language Immersion Information meeting on March 18 or April 29:

During these sessions, GCPS families of incoming kindergarten students will gain valuable insights into the Dual Language Immersion program at participating elementary schools. At the end of the meeting, families will have time to ask questions to the program leader in a formal Q&A session.

The Kindergarten 2025-26 DLI Application will be available on the GCPS website April 14 – May 9, 2025.

Parents will need to complete registration for kindergarten beginning March 24, 2025 in an easy two-step process prior to their DLI application being processed.

Step 1: Online registration on the district website

Step 2: Schedule / attend a registration appointment at their child’s assigned elementary school . (CCES)

• Dual Language Immersion at Camp Creek will continue with a 2 class cohort next year in kindergarten.
• Two teachers will work together to support the instruction in the Dual Language program.
• Students will have mathematics, science, and literacy skills that are specific to that language for 50% of the day with a Spanish speaking teacher.
• A second class will have language arts and social studies with the other teacher in English. 
• At a determined point during the day, the teachers will switch groups of students so that all students receive instruction in both languages. 
• Each year, the program will expand to the next grade level as students move through elementary school.
